Robert E. Summerlin
Robert graduated from Rice University with a double major (Political Science and Managerial Studies) and from South Texas College of Law. He worked full-time while attending law school at night.
Robert is the Principal of the Summerlin Law Firm, PLLC which specializes in Criminal Defense. He has been the attorney of record in numerous criminal cases throughout the State of Texas. Robert was privileged to work as a Harris County Assistant District Attorney from 1999 through 2003. While working in the District Attorney’s office, Robert learned how the Harris County justice system works and advanced through the District Attorney’s office as a misdemeanor chief prosecutor and felony prosecutor. Robert has extensive trial experience in multiple areas of law—criminal, constitutional, personal injury and maritime. He has successfully first chaired numerous serious felony trials and represented clients in Harris County, Galveston, and Fort Bend County, Texas.
While in private practice, Harris County, Fort Bend County and Galveston County Criminal District Court Judges have recognized Robert’s expertise and enthusiasm for public service. He is frequently appointed to serve as attorney of record on serious criminal cases that include aggravated robberies, drug offenses, DWI, domestic violence, theft and property crimes.
Robert has been married to his wife, Elizabeth, for 16 years. They have two daughters- Katherine and Maggie. The family attends St. Martin’s Church.
Robert is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, gardening, running and working out. He also enjoys reading and watching sports.
